Musculin is highly enriched in Th17 and IL‐22‐producing ILC3s and restrains pro‐inflammatory cytokines in murine colitis

Transcription suppressor Musculin (MSC) is enriched in pro-inflammatory Th17 and IL-22-producing ILC3s. While MSC+/+ mice survived DSS-induced colitis, MSC−/− showed elevated cytokines with severer pathology, reduced body weight, earlier death. Reversal of colitis symptoms by IL-22 antagonism suggests the existence MSC:IL-22 regulatory axis.
